2012

Its been a hot start to the new year.  Lots of fire works were around last night well into the early hours of the morning.
I don't know what the new year will hold.   a new begining for Tori.  Anything else new I do not know about.  Maybe a new grandchild or maybe not.
THe new /old sprinkler system is working a treat.  Now I will have a garden that I am proud of.  I have some beautiful lillies in it at tthe moment.  One is a deep maroon nearly chocolate.  I chose it because it reminded me of the flowers Hope had for her wedding.  Another is a pretty hot pink.  The third is yet to flower.  The gladies have done really well but have finished now.  This year I have had one sort of flower most of the spring to early summer out at one time or another.  It makes gardening fun.
I am looking forward to spending more time with my family.  More time with God.  More time with friends.  Wheather or not I get to have a licience still remains to be seen.
My three grand-daughters are growing. Addie is 2.  Rachael 15 months and Tiny at nearly one is walking.
Katie may change persisions if she gets into Uni this year.  It would be good if she does.
I intend on staying at the Salvation Army this year.  I have been there nearly a year now.  I am still enjoying the friendship and the challanges given out by the captians each week.

christmas carols

Tonight the 10 december Tori and I and friends went on a bus to Melbourne.  There we celebrate christmas in true christain style.  The songs were great,  the donkey goats, sheep and camels did steal the show at one time.  The timbrels were a delight to Tori as she is currently learning some of them.  And santa come on back of a a motor bike.  Mary road a donkey.  The main artist road a wagon.
Everything was great and it was inside so the rain did not hurt us.
All went well until we got back in the bus.  It to
ok us a while to realise that the drive who was on his phone outside the bus was not making a personal call but a call to the bus company as in his hand he held the gear stick.
The company were all at a party and were not much help.  It took a while not it took a long time before they beleived that the bus was undriveable and that the whole gear stick had come out not just the top.  None of them could drive down and they had to be 0.00 blood alchol, any way a bus of the same company was in Melbourne and after some time it was able to take us safely home.
We are all glad that the gear stick did not break while traveling down a hill or on the freeway.  God was watching over us.

what a week

Well I have been on a rollercoaster ride of  ups and downs.  I did it hard this week. But today Monday I am looking forward to a new week.
Had a great day yesterday at church( the Salvation Army)  I was really encouraged after having a bad week.  People really do care.
Had my second last soldier ship classes as well.  There is only 3 of us now.  we need to make a descion weather or not we are going to join.  I am.  I like what I am learning.  I am invovled also in a ladies bible study a prayer group and fellowship group
Its a beautiful day, its going to be a beatiful week.  The only down side that I can see at the moment is that my dog has to be put down. He is so old and sick I will miss him as I have had him longer then I have had Tori.
Tori and I are going to plaster fun house today then meeting a friend for coffee and cake.
Its family tea tonight, looking forward to see everyone and my grand daughter.  Rachael is now standing up in the middle of the room and taking some steps.  She is so clever.
Tori and Rachael spent time on saturday playing with a balloon.  Rachael loves balloons.  She has some cute actions at the moment.
Looking forward to my daughters wedding in Nov and to seeing the other two grand daughters, and of course my biggest girl

sping again

wow its acually spring.  Rachael was one yesterday.  She is so cute.  I am really blessed to have 3 beautiful grand daughters.  Though I can not see 2 in person I do spend some time on skype to them.  They know who I am.
Yesterday was a full day of prayer for the Salvo's I was involved in a fair bit of it.  It was great.  I know that God heard our prayers and are eagerly waiting answers.  It  is so good when God's people get together and pray.
Fathers day is almost here.  We are going bowling for the afternoon.  Toris idea.  The family are coming for tea, which will be nice.  Sorry Bytha I will send you some in the mail if you like!
Not sure what I want to do on such a beautiful day, if the Avon lady comes I can go for  a walk. I might sit outside and read for a while.
Had a wow bible study with Robyn today.  God sent us specail promises.  He always fulfills his word, in his time, but he does it.  This is a new eara and a group of new promises.  I love being alive.

epic

doing the study called the Epic at ladies bible study.  It is a good study.  Really makes you think.  It is about being place in a time, in a story in an epic, at a certain stage and living that life according to that time.  I have a purpose in being here right now.  I have a future as well.  I do not know what that future is but i am going to enjoy the journey while I can.  The future has no mistakes, only choices. But the choices I make today can and will effect my future.  I have had some very bad choices and have had to pay a high price, the price of freedom and the price of respect.  But even though I can not undo those things as Joyce Meyer says, I can still make better choices now that will change my future if I did not.
I have two cats sitting on my chair asleep , not much room for me.

His strenght is perfect

this song is great I love the words
His strength is perfect
So perfect

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
But sometimes I wonder what he can do for me
No great success to show
No glory of my own
yet in my weakness he is there to let me know

[CHORUS:]
His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
He'll carry us when we can't carry on
Raised in his power the weak becomes strong
His strength is perfect
His strenght is perfect

We can only know tht power that he holds
When we truly see how deep our weakness goes
His strength it must begin
When ours comes to an end
He hears our humble cry and proves again

[CHORUS 2x]

ma

Went and saw Ma today, Glenns mum.  She is 90 now .  She hardly goes out of the house except to go to church which is kind of sad. But the church people are really good to her she said today.  She loves reading all of the papers and even the Ballarat ones though she now lives in Geelong.
she has a best friend.  I hope that would have a best friend when i am old.  Today she talked about the old lady at church who is 94!  Not that much difference really.
She is a great mum in law.  I could get no better.

My latest creation. It is made from that feathery wool.  It looks warm and cozy. Just right for some little child that has lost a sibling or to put in a cofin with a child that has passed on.
I have had a boring week.  Achived very little.  Had an awesome time yesterday with my bible time.  Got some very good promises.  I will prosper, ( mentally and spiritually) in God's time.   It is good news to know that I am going to be Ok.

I am now going to attempt to make a rug with a teddy bear in the middle.  I have done a swan before but this will be a challange.  I have not done a picture for years.
I did not go to the farm this week.  But I do go to craft and champanion club also.
I am at a bit of loss to where my life is heading now.  I do not know what I am meant to achive each week.
I have taken up the challange to pray and hour a day each day for the last few weeks.  I hope to keep it up

Monday, 8 August 2011

This is number two of the rugs that I am making.  Number three will be finished by the end of the week.
look who is sitting in grandpas chair.  Watch out grandpa there is a chair snapper in the family and this time I do not mean Tori'
Rachael can crawl when she wants to but she perfers to be walked by holding on to her hands.  She loves some of grandma's toys.  The spinning  top is her favorite. We have put in stair gates but shortly the kitchen gate will have to go in too as she is getting more mobil all the time.  She can get up and sometimes down our one step in the lounge room.  Some times she falls as she tries to crawl down it.  She is a real delight to have.  She is cheeky and cute all at the same time.

tuesday

Today I caught the bus just because I wanted too.  No appiontments to attend.  So I went to lincraft and wondered.  I touched fabric, enjoying the different feelings ,enjoyed looking at the expensive stuff.  I browsed the pattern books just becuase I could.  I bought 2 patterns.  One of a lion that I will make rachael for her birthday , it is made out of circles and material to go with it and a bag pattern.  I need to put my stuff some where in the loungeroom.  The little table is not big enough so I will adventurally make it. I will learn how to do it at my lessons on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Then I caught the bus home again.  It was most enjoyable time.
Then I went to companion club at eh Salvo's.  I had pumkin soup and apple pie for lunch. Two of the ladies did a demo of what they were cooking.  I talked to a couple of different people.  It was a nice day. Then home again ( 10 min walk) and I was tiding up when Tori rang.  She is in the school units at the moment

sunday in July

Its nice to have a warm house this time of the year.
I have not done much lately.  I went to church yesterday.  IF your frying pan is not big enough get a new one.  If Gods miracles and expectations don't fit my small minded idea expand!
Also that God expects and wants us to ask.  How do we know this, because he said ."ask, seek knock"/

In frustration I have unpulled all of my knitting again.  The wool I got in Broken hill just keeps on stretching.  Some thing small ended ups huge.  I can not knit jumpers with it,  I might try some narrow like a scarf. but at the moment I have decided to knit a ladies beanie in variegated pink.  If I like the pattern  I will make several for next years Christmas boxes.  There also is a toy to knit that look s simple.  I will make a few of them as well.
I am frustrated about the carpet.  We need to replace the bed room carpet but will we be able to get something in similar color.  The carpet upsets me the way it is, it hold memories I don't like, so it needs to go, but how do you do one room only  I would not mind if it was a different color but Glenn does .  Hope to work out the problem soon.
I had another meeting from Specturm today but like so often it is cancelled.  I only Peta twice a month and the last few months it has only worked out to be once a month.  Not good way to get to trust here is it?

But I still have to go to town and get my script, so I might get my sewing foot while I am at it.  Lincraft is 1/2 price this week so I will go and have a look too.

I am off to craft soon, with my knitting.  I enjoy the company of others

sewing lessons

Today I had my first sewing lesson for quilting.  I made a scrap catcher.  It has a lot of idffernt sticthes in brown and orange tones across it. It looks great.  the main part is brown.  The rest a tan color.  In case you can not tell I like brown.
Next month I am going to start on a quilted bag,  It is really two bags quiled then sewn togehter,  /guess what color I am doing it?  Brown and calico.  Should look awesome.  It will take a long time to do it though.  Most of the others have finished theirs.  We all go at our own pace.  It will take me quite a while to do things as it has been years since I last sewed anything.  I am pleased with todays effects.  I like the group of ladies and the teacher is great.

sewing

I have just been and spent all of my money.  I am starting sewing lessons for quilting on Saturday, so I had to buy a pair of good sisors and pair of pinking sheers, an unpicker, pins and needles.
THat is with out the materials.  It will cost to start up but I am looking forward to it.
I aslo bought a cd/tape/radio player for the study.  My old one died a long time ago so I have been using my ccomputer for back ground music when I am bible studing and praying, but it is not a very good computer and the sound is awful.  I was suprised to get a tape player still.  Old stock i guess  So now I am broke but happy.

Tonight I am going to ladies bible study.  We are doing the last chapter of Esther.  Its been a real great study, on DVD by Beth More.  There is daily home workto do.  Since I have been away I have it all to do today!  I am half way through it .  Now I can play some muscic as well.  With incense a warm blanket and music I am set for the afternoon.
this Teddy Bear is from Michael and Katrina's trip around Europe.  Isn't in beautiful
My 51st Birthday cake from Katie.  It was so pretty and so yum,my.  Thanks Katie

broken Hill

I spent a week with the Schultz's.  My daughter and her family.  It was really great.  We had a great time with out 22 month old grand daughter.  I even attempted to toliot train her.  She is a tiger.  Bytha got a doll and used a syringe full of water to show Addie how wees goes in the pot.  The next time it was time for the potty ( we were putting her on every 20 minutes) she got the doll and put it in the pot and said  "potty doll"  She can hang on to do wees but will not do them in the pot.  She loves her undies and kept looking in the mirror at them.
One day she tried to get up of grandpas knee.  He had Tiny on his knee and said no to
Addie.  so Addie as cute as ever said "Sorry Grandpa"  She is saying new words every day now.  She is such a grown up girl.

Tiny is 6 mths old.  She can not sit by herself as yet but loves sitting on my knee.  She also loves bging walked around which proved to  be a full time job for grandpa and me.
The week was good.  I really enjoyed it.  I stayed well most of the time.  I had the unit to go for time out by ourselves of a night.  this was needed.  I did night mare most nights, so I would get up and do some knitting, so I did not get much sleep.
Knitting a hat and scarf for myself and started crotehing a another top;  Wore the one I had made and was pleased with it.

Had a great time op shopping, getting real bargings.Like a brand new pair of overalls for Glenn for $10 and I got some craft books.

Monday 27 June

I had an interesting day today.
First I went to craft at the salvo's/  I took my pom pom wool to knit.  But I did a lot of spying on others.  I got talking about sewing and signed up for sewing quilting once a month.  $15 for 6 hours of sewing lessons.  Not bad.  I am really excited about this.  I use to sew for the kids but found now that my daughters can sew better then me I have no bothered.  Move over girls! I aslo signed up for a trip to a craft expo on the 30th.

Then i had an appiontment with Peta.  We talked about different things.  I know I have to do some realy work with her in the future, but we had not meet for a month and because of our holidays it will  be another month before we meet again.  Then I will start some serious work with her.

Tori come home sick from school.  She had a bad cold all weekend but wanted to go to school.  They sent her home.  So I guess she'll have to come to work with us tomorrow.  If she sits in the warm ute with the radio on she will be fine.

Of to Broken Hill Saturday.  It is a long trip but one daughter and two grand daughters the other end makes it all worth while.

katie

pom pom

Today I got this beautiful mulity colored pom pom wool.  It is to take to Broken Hill and to make myself a hat and a scarf.  I got it from Lincraft.  There wool is half the price of Big W.  Which is a surprise.  I am part way through the scarf for Addie.  It is purple fluffly stuff that is horrid to knit.  At first I hated it.  And I had to undo it as I increased from 30 stitches to 50!  The new one is 20 stitch wide.  Plenty for a two year old.  One week to broken Hill.  It is getting exciting.
Tonight Katie cooked chicken wroapped in pastry.  It was delicous.  She is such a good cook.
It cold and wet in Ballarat today.  Really winter.  It ok for now but some times I need to go to the farm and do work and I hate it.  I enjoy the farm work but not the cold.
Today I got 2 box fulls of clothes from /centercare that were Rivers.  Plenty for me and the girls.  Thanks centercare, the warm coat and jackets are just what we needed in this weather.
Last night I had the womens bible study here.  It is on Esther.  It was really good.  Haman wanted to be honored above every one.  Hight above every one.  He ended up on Gallows high above everyone.  Strange.  But is seems that those who live by the sword die by the sword. That worries me as i have done some terrible things in the past because of my illness.  Does that mean I will die in a terrible way too?
I am blessed with great kids and great grand kids.  Monday Rachael reconized Hope in a photo on the wall.  Isn.t that amazing

sunday

I went to church today.  I go to the local salvo's.  It is really good.  It was about convernants today.  There were a few convernants made, today.  Including a 10 year old girl.  Nicole spoke on the covernant of Christ.  Where he had the last supper with the discipiles.  It was good.  It made me really think.  I need to make clear my covernant with God.  Am I faithful to him.  Do I honor the discion to follow Christ .  I have made several steps in this area over my life time.  One being only  a few weeks ago. I renewed my walk with him.  Since then I felt good.  I have not had and "incident" for some weeks now.  I am going well.  My family are happy and I am happy and people say they can tell that I am getting better by my face all the time! Isn't that great.

I am doing a study on Esther with the ladies from church.  It is awesome.  Beth (on DVD) is a great teacher and brings really important things out.  I am really enjoying it and learning things at the same time.

grand daughters

Its been a lovely day.  I have had my 9 month old grand daughter here today.  She even put her arms out to me for a hug when she was on the floor.  I was delighted!  Then Hope skyped Bytha and we got to see Addie and Tiny.  It was delightful.  Yeah for skype.  Tiny is now bigger then Rachael and 4 months younger
Today Tori got her bible out and her pen and paper and asked me to sit down with her and do some bible study/  We wrote out 13 verses in all.  Then I went and started lunch and she kept going.  Later in the day she was still at it and asked me to do some more with her, so I did.  Then I went and made tea.  She kept at it until I told her that we had to clear the table.
Its been a strange day.  I woke up as I have all this week feeling not quite Ok.  But I moved anyway.  I got up and baked muffins for Glenn and made lemon slice.  That has not been made for a long time as Katie does not make it and I have not done anything for more then a year.  Anyway along came Hope and Rachael and I made Pinapple fritters for lunch.  Rachael had her first taste of pinapple and loved it.  I think she ate about 1/2 a fritter.
Then for tea I made home made vegie soup. Gravy beef with herbs and  vegies.  Then I toped it of with home made custard.  It was all very yummy.
I had a lot of dishes to do but the day has been worth it.
